Here are summaries of our latest accomplishments.

NEW ARRANGEMENT - RECRUITMENT ALREADY STARTED UP

On 12 May, 2016, After the discussions with the Minister of Employment, it is confirmed that they will in-charge all the training centers to ensure the girls will be the best domestic workers in Hong Kong. They must undergo the 6 months of training course. An examination will be taken (organized by Madagascar Government) before departure.

New training centers is started to training applicants.

APPROVAL OF NON GOVERNMENT ORGANISATION

On 5 March, 2015, We are notified by The Government of Hong Kong SAR that our Association has been approved as Non Government Organisation. Our Name was changed to

Madagascar Agences de L’emploi Assocication.

 

NOTIFICATION FROM LABOR MINISTRY

On 24 February, 2015, A list of Agencies in Madagascar had been provided by Labor Ministry.

 

NEW TRAINING CENTERS

There will be more local training centers join with our Hong Kong Agencies.

ARRIVAL OF MALAGASY MAIDS

On 27 Jan 2014, The first batch of Malagasy maids were arrived Hong Kong
Until 31 Dec 2014, there are 42 Malagasy maids currently in Hong Kong.
 

RECRUITMENT STARTED

Recruitment has been starting as at 1 October, 2013

 

SET UP TRAINING CENTERS

10-20 September, 2013, Our Project Manager and Training Specialist went to offer assistance to set up training center, set up the comprehensive training course.

 

JOINT COOPERATION WITH LOCAL AGENCIES

24-29 July, 2013, we went to visit some local agency to understand about their training center, and to introduce the training course which tailor-made for Malagasy Domestic Workers which was approved by Labour Ministry of Madagascar.
We are instructed to prepare the Agreement regarding the Joint cooperation between the local Agencies and Hong Kong Agencies.

 

APPROVAL

25-30 June, 2013, Our team followed up about the collaboration process, a computer system which tailor made for the Malagasy workers database was introduced to the Labour Ministry.
The system is web-based that Labour Ministry or Consulate in Hong Kong can be access that they can get the latest status of every worker in Hong Kong.
A certificate was issued by the Minister of Labour Ministry of Madagascar, MALA is the only responsible regarding all matters of Malagasy Workers from Madagascar to Hong Kong.

 

COOPERATION

7-12 May, 2013, Our team went to Madagascar to discuss with the Labour Ministry about the cooperation of process; introducing the protection under the Hong Kong SAR laws (Cap.57  & Cap.282) for the Foreign Domestic Worker in Hong Kong. We had promised to take care of all Malagasy Domestic Workers in Hong Kong.
Under the guidelines of Ministère de la Fonction Publique, du Travail et des Lois Sociales (Labour Department) of Madagascar, MALA is being approved exclusively to handle all matters regarding the process Malagasy Domestic Worker from Madagascar to Hong Kong.

 

INVESTIGATION BY LABOUR DEPARTMENT OF MADAGASCAR

19 – 22 April, 2013, Ministère de la Fonction Publique, du Travail et des Lois Sociales (Labour Department) of Madagascar sent their Inspector to came to Hong Kong to for Investigation. To understand the lives of Foreign Domestic Worker and they visited Immigration Department, Hong Kong SAR as well. 

 

LIAISON
In March, 2013, our team went to Madagascar to visit the Government body to discuss the operation especially the training. Thus, Madagascar Migration Worker training and examination center (MMWE) will be setup to ensure the training is fit for Hong Kong employers.
 
HONG KONG SAR GOVERNMENT
On 19 March, 2013, we received the letter from Hong Kong Immigration Department that they will accept the application of Malagasy as domestic helper in Hong Kong.
 
PROBABILITY
With the discussion with the Ministère de la Fonction Publique, du Travail et des Lois Sociales (Labour Department) of Madagascar, the preliminary stage will be application for approval from both government bodies.
The culture of Malagasy is quite close to Hong Kong, such as:-
Religious: 50% traditional believe
              40% Christian
               7% Muslim
                3% others
Food: No spicy
 
We believed that they will be very easy to adapt with our community and will be accepted by the employer as well.
 
INVESTIGATION - 9 FEBRUARY 2013
In February, 2013 our team went to Madagascar to investigate the probability of recruiting the Malagasy girls to Hong Kong as domestic worker.  
 
We introduced Hong Kong to Government body that Hong Kong has a very good system and the good protection to overseas workers. It is also a good opportunity to offer a very good financial prospect to their people.
